it has been over 6 years since anton pieete and jeroen liebregts have released any collaborative material under their museum name, but now finally they are back. this 3rd release of the radial records catalogue is the first of a series of eps from the duo. both of these artists have made a transformation towards analog hardware instruments over the years, these tracks are the total sum of putting together their heavy machinery and their minds: the ultimate mixture of dark roughness and funk.

the untold stories: protagonist series. records dedicated to the stories of some venerable but unsung historical figures. the first of the protagonist series was created by sil, and gives a glimpse into the spirit of the first such figure: tadeush konrad. sil, the pseudonym of kirill sylantev, who is more widely known for his work in the duo easy changes, now begins solo productions. for the untldpro series his work dedicated to tadeush konrad is of confident vibe, with much swing and rich with soulful flashes from times past. this work is then remixed by ztrl and hubble. first comes the ztrl remix, with energetic bass and a wealth of tones interrelating to great hypnotic effect. then on the b-side hubble s remix, an extended work, a floating journey of warm organic sounds, concludes the story and the spirit of tadeush konrad.

we are back with the 4th episode of the seed series. this is ep was born from the recent collaboration between deepbass, head of informa records, and nax_acid owner of the label. the record is a deep voyage between abstract and distorted atmospheres and pulsing analog and acidic sound all blend in with 4/4 and broken techno beats, taking you to an imaginary garden of the hesperides, nymph garden, inspired from the greek mythology. hesperis, erebus and nyx, nymph of the night and darkness, will accompany you through the journey across the ravishing garden, guiding you through the elegance of a splendid dark night enlighten by a new moon.

girl units club-dwelling hysterics alias makes his first appearance on the night slugs main series. his opening statement via club constructions vol. 5 introduced a dungeon world of hydraulic rhythm tracks driven by primal exertion. hysterics ep offers a first glimpse of colour from the artist (mainly oxidised bronze!).

following the recent part 6 & part 7 releases comes the next and, for now, final chapter taking the series (that originated on the now defunct phono label circa 1995) up to part 8

plan b recordings continues its underground sounds compilation series. the a side represents label bosses dj spider and dakini9. dj spider is his usual twisted self on *hive mind* and dakini9s house- techno hybrid *lost* reveals a few layers of meaning for the careful listener. the b side welcomes berlins franklin de costa with a deep moody burner named *retreat* and fifth wall records co-boss divvorce turns in a stomper with *e./b.* to close out the compilation.

the tenth in the series has been twisted in an all too unconventional fashion for the wilson imprint. here we have the sequential ep from the wls09, dedicated to some seriously hot, off the wall remix action from 4 of the most revered artists in the game today, chicago house legend, gene hunt, the notorious hotmix boss, simoncino and a remix each from berlin based techno-house duo, the analog cops. get ready for some unreal sonic business.

for the 8th instalment of to rack & ruin we see the long awaited return of neil diablo this time dropping the evil k neil moniker from used for the first 2 volumes of the edits series. first up on foreva neil skilfully chops up a little known raw 122bpm proto-house disco jam which has sumptuous boogie bassline, choppy stabs and a wonderful soulful female vocal extended and edited for dance floor delight. on the flip is love ma gin. a glittery disco affair with a heavy bassline and glamorous strings which builds and builds. early dj support come from crazy p, pete herbert and emperor machine.

celebrated and mercury-nominated uk duo rae & christian released their first new material for ten years in 2013 on night time stories/late night tales after spending the last decade meditating in a buddhist monastery in swindon. this year the label commissioned a series of remixes from mercury rising and mang dynasty (aka ray mang & bill brewster) take on favourite game featuring rising star of the swindon buddhist circuit jake emlyn. mang dynasty focus on gita langley s backing vocal hooks adding a chorus piano motif and stretch things out into an epic nine minute plus main version aimed squarely at the dancefloor (and afghanistan). jake emlyns more aurally-pleasing melodic parts are utilised towards the end taking things up another level to a happy finish. initial reactions have been so strong it seemed rude not to slip out a 12inch on mangled, home of the hits!

out of rome, sofatalk soars high on this ep, feeling out the difference between a lifetime on earth or one really cool moment above it. the title track breathes and evolves via a series of flourishes on the playful side of things - this one is no beard stroker. cloudy soul keeps the optimism and front foot action rolling with an excursion slightly to the deeper end without ever fully taking the plunge. wrapping it up, on reflection is a tight little rhythm-box-driven number that takes you by surprise, transplanting you from the floor to the lower middle stratosphere without you realising. japanese producer 9dw then turns it into a hot stepper of its own, keeping the energy up there but differentiating the bounce.

it has been a long time between drinks for german band bambi - and it is something of a triumphant return, too. last time we heard from them, back in 2000, they were a post minimal rock duo comprising of guitarist/vocalist robin van velzen and drummer hans christian fuss. a decade and a half of live improvisation and a multitude of collaborations later, they return as a balearic rock four-piece. the bands newest members, former mountaineer man frank mollena and sofia fuss, were asked to join following a particularly successful series of live collaborations and improvisational jams. through balearic post-rock territory, with van velzens weary, emotional vocals riding a wave of vibrant colours, backwards hazy, intoxicating and evocative, it sounds like a horizontal anthem in the making. one sided, hand numbered, limited to 500 copies.

the debut release on office recordings is the first part of a series produced by label founder baaz. in my mind is a subtle, shiny piece of jazzyfied house music with a steady rolling groove and dirty kickdrum. glim bangs the box with deep dubs and a sexy vigorous groove. the flip starts with two mind bending downbeat cuts with a stumbling beat. last but not least a slowburning remix of way out citti by matthias reiling (sessionn victim, giegling recordings) and björn astrup who did a brilliant job twisting the original into a soulful homage to the slow side of house music.
